Used this at OSH21 during several significant storms. I used it to tie down my PA-16 (light weight taildragger) which is a prime candidate to blow away in a wind storm. The Claw kept it solidly tied down throughout the week. I will likely use some higher quality rope with it in the future, but the supplied rope seemed plenty strong. There are DIY options out there that work just as well, but for the price, The Claw appealed to my laziness. Great product.

Each stake is approximately 10-1/2 inches long. Fully extended diameter is approximately 21 inches.
Total weight of the Claw kit is 8 lbs.
With any tie down system, it is only as good as the soil you put it in. The system works fine in frozen ground but not in pure ice. As for snow, performance will depend on the type of soil and the saturation level.
