These precision-made nuts are reliable and economical fastening devices The fiber insert gives a friction grip on the threads of the bolt and holds securely. The AN364 (thin) stop nut is for use in structural applications where the bolt is loaded primarily in shear or in any application where the tensile strength of the regular height AN365 is not required. Cad stop nuts are furnished to military specifications. Stainless is furnished to military specification.

Using the illustrated parts diagram for the Maule tailwheel on Aircraft Spruce’s website I ordered 2 AN360-720A lock nuts. This is a 1/2 inch nut. The low profile one. They sent me two of the high profile nuts under the MS code of MS21083N7. I phoned AS and notified the of this. THY said they would send two correct ones. Next I received two low profile lock nuts 7/16 nuts under the code of MS21083N7. Another call and sent them photos of both ANS so far nothing. No communication and no lock nuts.

Q: on the part manual for a cherokee it asks for part number MS20364-1032C, what is the C stand for?

C after the -1032 will indicate that this is a all-metal stop nut. You will need to go with a MS21042 series nut. MS21042-3 will be the correct cross reference part for your MS20364-1032C. You could also order part # 04-01359 which is a MS20364-1032C THIN HEX NUT.

Q: My application requires a AN364-1216A. What does the A stand for? Will the AN364-1216 work in this application?

"A" stands for non metallic insert, or elastic/nylon lock nut. They are the same part, we just drop the "a" in our system.
